40 Days of Grace- Day 40

Romans 11:5-6 So to at the present time there is a remnant chosen by grace. And if by grace, then it is no longer by works; if it were, grace would no longer be grace.

Well we have made it! 40 Days of reflection on God’s magnificent, all-powerful, transforming grace. He has chosen us to be his remnant in a world where people have rejected his grace and his mercy. We have been chosen, not because of our goodness, but because of his great mercy. In the Rite I Holy Eucharist, we pray before receiving the body and blood of our Lord:

We do not presume to come to this thy Table, O merciful Lord, trusting in our own righteousness, but in thy manifold and great mercies. We are not worthy so much as to gather up the crumbs under thy Table. But thou art the same Lord whose property is always to have mercy.

May you always know the wonderful grace of God. What a gift and what a God who gives it, even when we do not deserve. Thank you for taking this journey with me. It has been a joy and a delight to reflect upon His grace. And now may the grace of God fill your hearts and minds with the knowledge and love of God. May he bestow upon you grace upon grace. Amen.

  1. Thank you, Fr. Marc for these meditations on God’s grace. They have been meaningful – and thought provoking. May God continue to bless us with His grace – and help us to be alert to His grace towards us and gratef for it.

  2. You are welcome and it has been good to sit back and watch everyone who participated interact with God’s grace. There has been some wonderful theology and truth that has been communicated in the postings. I have been blessed.

  3. I also want to thank you Fr. Marc as I have enjoyed looking within to find all the grace God has bestowed on me. Too enumerable to list. But I do recognize it and thank God many times during the day. It is difficult for me to look back and see how I could have waited so long to repent. Thank God he did not forget me. Still singing Amazing Grace!

  4. And it came to pass, in some ways like a fast, first few days, no prob, I can do this. then about day twelve the resistance, day 17 the wall! but you carried through nicely, and near the end with the finish line in view, It hit, the realization of Grace and Mercy!
May we never forget the truth and substance of Grace that we discovered during this Lenten Season. You did such a great job and we appreciate your faithfulness. (2Cor 5:29-20) How God did beseech us personally through you… Thank you for the gift God has Given us through your lives. And HAPPY EASTER! Resurrection Day!!!
