Romans 11:5-6 So to at the present time there is a remnant chosen by grace. And if by grace, then it is no longer by works; if it were, grace would no longer be grace.
Well we have made it! 40 Days of reflection on God’s magnificent, all-powerful, transforming grace. He has chosen us to be his remnant in a world where people have rejected his grace and his mercy. We have been chosen, not because of our goodness, but because of his great mercy. In the Rite I Holy Eucharist, we pray before receiving the body and blood of our Lord:
We do not presume to come to this thy Table, O merciful Lord, trusting in our own righteousness, but in thy manifold and great mercies. We are not worthy so much as to gather up the crumbs under thy Table. But thou art the same Lord whose property is always to have mercy.
May you always know the wonderful grace of God. What a gift and what a God who gives it, even when we do not deserve. Thank you for taking this journey with me. It has been a joy and a delight to reflect upon His grace. And now may the grace of God fill your hearts and minds with the knowledge and love of God. May he bestow upon you grace upon grace. Amen.
