Sermons on Early Church
In this Memorial Day sermon, Fr. Marc encourages us to remember the heroes in our country, our own lives, and the Church. Looking at some of the first accounts of persecution found in the book of Acts, he challenges us to live for what is eternal rather than what is temporal.
In the second part of a series on worship, Fr. Marc goes back to the earliest recorded history of the Church, tracing the characteristics of worship found in the book of Acts, the Didache, Justin Martyr’s Apologies, and other writings from the first few centuries of Christianity. He also examines the connection between the original forms of worship and the way Christians worship today.
Following the Wednesday night series on the Book of Acts, Fr. Marc takes a look at the 120 people meeting in the Upper Room in Acts 1. Although their numbers were relatively small, they would go on to transform the world with the message of Jesus’ life, death, resurrection and ascension.
