Thoughts on why Jesus wept at Lazarus’ tomb before he brought him back to life

The Jews and others, when they saw Jesus weep, said, “See how he loved him!” Lazarus was in a better place, but Jesus has empathy with Lazarus’ sisters and with our sorrows and grief. Our hope is in Jesus, the Resurrection and the Life. God will not let death have the last word.
